In a recent interview with CGTN Anchor Guan Xin, Chen Liming, Chair of Greater China at the World Economic Forum, discussed the importance of fostering trust and collaboration among global leaders in the face of increasing fragmentation and uncertainty. Chen emphasized the need to rebuild trust as a fundamental element for international collaboration and dialogue.

The upcoming 54th annual meeting of the World Economic Forum in Davos, scheduled for January 15 to January 19, 2024, is expected to host around 2,800 participants from 120 countries, including public figures, business leaders, young global leaders, and academics. Chen highlighted the forum's commitment to providing a platform for diverse voices to be represented and integrated into dialogues, fostering debate and inspiring new ideas.

He also underscored China's critical role in addressing global challenges, given its status as the world's second-largest economy and its extensive trade partnerships with 140 countries. Looking ahead to Davos 2024, Liming emphasized the importance of China effectively communicating its economic outlook and its role in addressing long-term global challenges such as climate change, energy transformation, biodiversity protection, and the fourth industrial revolution. He expressed hope that China's participation in the forum would contribute to thought leadership and collaboration on these critical issues.
