Chinese attendees double at CES 2024, reflecting greater tech competitiveness

The 2024 Consumer Electronics Show (CES), the world's premier tech show, is being held in Las Vegas from January 9 to 12. Artificial intelligence (AI), sustainable development and mobility have emerged as the buzzwords at this year's exhibition.

More than 4,000 companies are participating in the exhibition this year, expecting to attract over 130,000 attendees, according to the exhibition organizer Consumer Technology Association.

1,115 Chinese companies are taking part at this year's event, marking a notable increase compared to the previous year's CES, where 493 companies participated. The number of Chinese companies has more than doubled, constituting over a quarter of all participating companies at this years event.

Chinese companies such as Hisense, Lenovo, and TCL are bringing the latest technologies and products, covering a wide variety of areas.

Global tech giants such as Qualcomm, IBM, and Intel are also in attendance, as well as more than 1,200 start-ups, with the number of start-ups present this year reaching an all-time high.

Exhibitors are showcasing innovative technologies and products across the areas of AI, robotics, electric vehicles, digital health, smart cities, virtual reality (VR), sustainable development, space technology, among others.

In addition, more than 200 forum activities are planned, with a focus on new technologies, opportunities and challenges in the consumer electronics industry.
