China and the Maldives elevated bilateral ties to a comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership on Wednesday. The Maldives is one of the earliest countries to join the Belt and Road Initiative. Zhang Jiadong from Fudan University says the Maldives can cooperate with Belt and Road partner countries to integrate regional tourism resources.
