South Africa has accused Israel of conducting genocide in Gaza and demanded that the UN's top court order an emergency suspension of the Israeli offensive. The International Court of Justice on Thursday started a two-day hearing on the case filed by South Africa, which Israel has described as an "atrocious" allegation. Einar Tangen, a senior fellow at the Beijing-based think tank Taihe Institute, says South Africa has a very good chance of proving the allegation as their documents presented to the court contain detailed quotations from senior Israeli officials that dehumanize Palestinians.
