Imagine golden loong, or dragons, twirling and bending before you. Imagine no more. These dragons from a workshop in the Dongchangfu District of Liaocheng, Shandong are newly off the production line, with more on the way. Craftsmen in east China have been weaving these dragons by hand, creating intricate patterns and elegant shapes in their designs. In bright hues of gold, yellow and brass, the ornaments are destined for homes around China as people prepare to mark the upcoming Year of the Loong during a multi-day Chinese New Year celebration in February.
