An ice and snow festival in the far northwest of Beijing is attracting visitors for day-into-night trips with the allure of sculpted ice and magical lighting. The 38th Longqing Gorge Ice Lantern Festival is underway in Beijing's Yanqing District, featuring a collection of 200 ice sculptures and more than 100 works made with snow. Set against the magnificent backdrop of Longqing Gorge nestled between two mountain peaks, the festival also features a special drone air show, intangible cultural heritage performances and activities in the broader scenic area such as ice drifting and rapids jumping.
