The Republic of Korea (ROK) on Wednesday imposed sanctions on 11 vessels and five individuals and entities engaged in "illegal ship-to-ship transfers" of oil and other products to the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), Yonhap News Agency reported, citing the ROK's foreign ministry.
The move marks the first imposition of sanctions on ships by the ROK's government in nearly eight years, the ministry said.
