A decommissioned ice harvesting site along the Harbin section of the Songhua River has been dubbed the "Diamond Sea" by tourists. Under the sunlight, the blocks of ice are crystal clear, resembling giant diamonds embedded in the surface of the river, creating a stunning scene that complements the surrounding ice and snow landscapes.

This unique site has quickly become a popular new tourist attraction in Harbin. This ice harvesting site on the Songhua River carries out major ice harvesting operations each winter, providing an ample supply of frozen water blocks for the ice and snow festivals and other winter events that take place in Harbin and the surrounding areas.
