Iran's Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) said one of its members was shot dead in a "terrorist attack" on Wednesday in the southeastern province of Sistan and Baluchestan, the official news agency IRNA reported.
The IRGC member, identified as Hossein-Ali Javdanfar, was shot on a road from Khash County to the provincial capital Zahedan when returning from a mission, IRNA reported, quoting a statement by the IRGC Ground Force's Quds Base in southeastern Iran.
Jaish al-Adl claimed responsibility of killing the IRGC commander, according to Iranian media reports.
