Snip, carve, etch, press – a paper-cutting art practitioner works with deft precision to produce his loong, or dragon, themed pieces. Li Wei, an inheritor of the paper-cutting art and a school teacher in Lianyungang, Jiangsu uses a multilayered paper-carving technique to achieve his distinctive designs. Ahead of Chinese New Year and the start of the Year of the Loong in February, Li has spent more than 20 days crafting a number of dragon-related characters and figures.
