Two passengers were killed in a plane crash involving a charter aircraft in the northern Afghan province of Badakhshan on Sunday, leaving four survivors, Reuters reported, citing two Taliban officials.

Khan Mohammad, head of the provincial governor's office, said the four surviving passengers were now with Taliban administration representatives. Zabihullah Amiri, Badakhshan's provincial spokesperson, confirmed the death toll and that four had survived.

Four people survived in the Falcon 10 plane crash in Afghanistan. However, the fate of two other people on board is being clarified, Russia's aviation watchdog Rosaviatsia said on Sunday, citing Russian diplomats.

A Russian-registered charter plane with six people aboard disappeared from radar screens over Afghanistan a day earlier, Russian aviation authorities said on Sunday after Afghan police said they had received reports of a crash.
