The U.S., Egypt and Qatar are pushing Israel and Hamas to join a phased plan that involves hostage release, the withdrawal of Israeli forces, and the end of the Gaza conflict, the Wall Street Journal reported on Sunday, citing diplomats.

According to the report, Neither side in the conflict has agreed to the terms of the new proposal. However, Israel and Hamas were at least willing to engage in the talks again. The report said negotiations will continue in Cairo in the coming days.
