China's northeastern region has had a long history of breeding sika deer. Last year, the province of Jilin vowed to have one million deer on the farms by 2027. One woman there is doing things slightly differently, by raising the fawns to be pets. She in among a small yet growing number of young adults returning to the countryside to tap into agricultural entrepreneurship.
