The two black boxes from the crashed Russian military transport aircraft were found at the crash site in the Belgorod region, Russian media reported Thursday.

"Both black boxes were discovered – a flight data recorder and a voice recorder" and have been handed over to investigators, several Russian media reports said, citing the country's emergency services.

On Wednesday, a Russian Il-76 transport aircraft with 65 Ukrainian prisoners aboard crashed in the Belgorod region at about 11 a.m.  Moscow time (0800 GMT). Others aboard included six aircraft crew members and three accompanying persons.

Russia has accused Ukraine of shooting down the aircraft. Ukraine has not confirmed or denied that it hit the plane.
