China is firmly opposed to the United States' report that hypes up the so-called "China threat", which doesn't exist, a Chinese Defense Ministry spokesperson said on Thursday.

Wu Qian, a spokesperson for the Ministry of National Defense, made the remarks in response to a recently released new U.S. defense industrial strategy that claimed a so-called increasing threat from China to upend the existing international order.

Facts have proved that China's military power development is always the development of a force for world peace, Wu told reporters .

"At the same time, we want to point out that China firmly opposes the United States to set up small and divisive circles in the Asia-Pacific region and incite bloc confrontation," he said.
