A schoolteacher in Rizhao, east China's Shandong Province has been sending her Chinese New Year greetings through the art of papercutting. Ma Xiaomin, an inheritor of the intangible cultural heritage, said papercutting creates a festive atmosphere and carry good wishes for the New Year. Ma hopes that through her efforts, more people will come to appreciate the art of papercutting. People in many places in China observe the custom of decorating their windows with papercutting to celebrate Spring Festival.
