A South Korean ruling party lawmaker was attacked by an unidentified assailant on the street in Seoul on Thursday and has been taken to hospital, Yonhap news agency reported.
Bae Hyun-jin, 40, was struck with an "object believed to be a blunt instrument," the report said, adding that her condition was "not life-threatening."
Police later arrested the suspect, and an investigation is underway.
