Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said the charge of genocide leveled against Israel at the World Court was "outrageous" and said it would do whatever is necessary to defend itself.

"Like every country, Israel has an inherent right to defend itself," Netanyahu said in a statement in English. "The vile attempt to deny Israel this fundamental right is blatant discrimination against the Jewish state, and it was justly rejected."

His remark came after the International Court of Justice (ICJ) in The Hague on Friday ordered Israel to take all measures in its power to prevent genocide acts and to ensure that its military does not commit genocide. The court also demanded Israel to report on the measures regarding the order within one month.
