Oldest multicellular eukaryote fossils found in north China

Chinese scientists have discovered a batch of multicellular eukaryote fossils that date back to 1.63 billion years ago, setting the world's oldest record for such fossils.

These well-preserved microfossils, Qingshania magnifica, were found in the Yanshan Mountains of north China, according to the findings published in the journal Science Advances this week.
