U.S. announces pause on new natural gas export facilities

CGTN

U.S. President Joe Biden's administration announced Friday it was pausing new liquefied natural gas (LNG) export facilities in order to tackle the climate crisis and accelerate the transition from fossil fuels.

"This pause on new LNG approvals sees the climate crisis for what it is: the existential threat of our time," Biden said in a statement.
