China's Cai Xuetong took bronze in the women's snowboard superpipe competition at the X Games in Aspen on Friday, while Chloe Kim of the U.S. tied compatriot Kelly Clark's record of seven X Games titles, finishing first with 96.33 points from her first run. Japan's Mitsuki Ono finished second.

This was the fourth bronze for 30-year-old Chinese veteran Cai, who landed her first in 2016.

Kim, who returned to competition this month for the first time since she won the halfpipe event at the Beijing Winter Olympics, became the first woman to land a 1260 cab in snowboard superpipe in her victory lap, which was an attempt she failed in Beijing.

"I really wanted to do that trick for a long time," the double Olympic champion said on the X Games livestream. "I attempted it in Beijing and I just really wanted to give it a shot. I wish it was a little cleaner, but I'm really stoked that I was able to put it down."

Kim, 23, resumed training in October last year, and has the potential to become the first female snowboarder to win the gold medals in three consecutive Olympic Games.
