A temporary freight pontoon bridge for winter cargo transportation across the China-Russia border has opened. Spanning the Heilongjiang River, known as the Amur River in Russia, the 628-meter-long transportation corridor for cross-border trade was completed in December 2023 under the on-site supervision of the Jiamusi Tongjiang Marine Division. The floating channel operates about 130 days per year, and its annual cargo throughput can reach 400,000 tonnes.
