An explosion was heard in Taloqan, the capital of Takhar Province in northeastern Afghanistan, local media outlet Tolo News reported Tuesday.
The explosion reportedly occurred near the municipality building in the city at around 2:00 p.m. local time.
The nature of the explosion remains unclear, and it has not immediately been known if there are any casualties.
