An annual horse race was held at the foot of the snowy Tianshan Mountains ahead of the Chinese New Year. Over 100 local herdsmen participated in the 20-kilometer race. The event also featured traditional equestrian activities of ethnic Kazak people, such as picking flowers while riding and jubilant horse chases. The organizers prepared a camel, a pony and a calf as the first, second and third prizes, respectively.
