People visited the 30th Zigong International Dinosaur Lantern Festival for a preview of the grand New Year celebrations, which are themed around the Year of the Dragon. The event features thousands of colorful lanterns and artistic installations to showcase traditional Chinese culture and popular trends, as well as Zigong's lantern art. The city is known as the "Lantern Town of the South Kingdom," and is home to many talented lantern artists. Dating back to the Tang Dynasty (618-907), the annual festival will also feature many folk performances. This year's lantern festival will officially open on February 2 in Zigong, southwest China's Sichuan Province.
