Tianjin, one of China's four municipalities directly under the central government, has a total land area of 11,966.45 square kilometers and a total population of 13.64 million people. In 2023, the city's GDP topped 1.67 trillion yuan (about $235 billion), a year-on-year growth rate of 4.3 percent.
