The Queqiao-2 satellite, a new communications satellite for China's lunar missions, arrived at the Wenchang Spacecraft Launch Site in south China's Hainan Province on Friday.

Once operational, the satellite will enable communication between China's lunar rover and the ground station, providing relay support for the Chang'e-4, Chang'e-6, Chang'e-7 and Chang'e-8 missions.

According to China's National Space Administration, preparations for pre-launch testing are progressing according to plan.

The Queqiao-2 satellite is scheduled for launch in the first half of this year.
