Immigration: An everlasting tug of war between red and blue

Cartoon

The razor wire installed at the U.S.-Mexico border has given rise to an escalating conflict between the two major U.S. political parties. The governor of conservative Texas, a red state, has rejected the ruling of the Supreme Court to remove the razor wire, and has also gained wide support from other Republican governors. The White House has slammed Republicans for using immigration as a "stunt" to achieve political goals. At the heart of the current confrontation is partisan hostility that risks a constitutional crisis.
