Since the establishment of diplomatic ties, a hallmark of the Sino-Swiss relationship has been its pioneering spirit. Switzerland was the first country in continental Europe to sign a free trade agreement with China and is a founding member of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank. In 2016, China and Switzerland announced the establishment of the Sino-Swiss innovative strategic partnership. This is China's first innovation-focused strategic partnership with a foreign country. In this edition of Leaders Talk, CMG's Zou Yun sat down with Guy Parmelin, Swiss Federal Councilor, to hear his views on the "pioneering spirit" of the Sino-Swiss relationship.
