The annual horse-racing festival is a highlight of the year in Xizang. Huge crowds gather to watch the highly-trained horses and their young riders compete in a variety of races. Despite their small stature, the jockeys demonstrate remarkable strength and powers of endurance. They all dream of winning, and to that end they put in many hours of exhausting practice.
