Building upon the showcase of the artistic charm of classic performances, while highlighting a modern and youthful vibe, China Media Group (CMG) held a press conference on Monday to introduce several innovative highlights of the upcoming 2024 Spring Festival Chinese Opera Gala.

The gala revolves around 11 creatively unique programs, utilizing various performance spaces such as the main venue and an ancient Chinese theatrical stage. It employs an immersive theatrical format, creating an atmosphere conducive to close and engaging viewing, akin to that of a small theater.

The gala will continue the mode of on-site recording used last year and will be produced in Deyang City, southwest China's Sichuan Province.

Artists and talented young performers from over 60 Chinese theater troupes and institutions across the country will present more than 20 traditional Chinese opera genres at the gala.

The event is scheduled to premiere on the evening of February 11, the second day of the Chinese Lunar New Year, at 8:00 PM on CMG's channel CCTV-1 and CCTV-11, simultaneously airing on various platforms, including the CMG video platform Yangshipin, and CCTV.com.
