The U.S. airstrikes on the paramilitary Hashd Shaabi forces in western Iraq on Friday are a blatant violation of Iraqi sovereignty, said a security expert. The strikes, targeting the al-Qaim area and the nearby Akashat area in Anbar province near Iraq's border with Syria, killed 16 people and wounded 36 others.
