This year marks the 36th year of the ongoing China-Brazil Earth Resources Satellite cooperation, or CBERS. CBERS stands as China's first satellite series in civilian remote sensing satellites. The two countries have collaborated on seven satellites so far. In 2023, a new protocol for the CBERS-6 satellite was signed, witnessed by the presidents of China and Brazil. The China National Space Administration hosted the China-Brazil Space Cooperation Symposium Monday in Beijing. CBERS Project Mission Manager Ma Shijun, and former President of Brazilian Space Agency Jose Raimundo Coelho talked to CGTN on the sideline of the symposium.
