M5.9 earthquake strikes northern Philippines

A magnitude 5.9 earthquake struck northern Philippines on Wednesday, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.

The institute said the quake, which struck at 12:05 p.m. local time, hit at a depth of 10 kilometers, near Pagudpud town in Ilocos Norte.
