An underwater dragon dance thrilled visitors to an aquarium in the Shapingba District of Chongqing, adding to the cheerful holiday atmosphere in China ahead of Spring Festival celebrations this weekend. Divers expertly guided a “dragon” through the tank, as it twirled and chased a dragon ball. As the Year of the Dragon approaches, several dragon-themed festive activities have been spotted around Chongqing. Dragons have long been associated with water in China; legend has it that this auspicious creature can bring rain.
