With the Chinese New Year approaching, sales of huamo, or flower buns, are rising. Buns commemorating the Lunar New Year of the Dragon are the bestsellers. Workers in the Licheng and Wenxi counties in north China's Shanxi Province have been busy making the colorful steamed buns. They add fruit and vegetable juice to the flour to create colorful designs and knead the dough into different shapes.
