About 5.5 tonnes of water containing radioactive materials got leaked from Japan's Fukushima nuclear power plant, local media reported on February 7. Workers discovered a purification device to be leaking during an inspection on the day, the report said, citing Tokyo Electric Power Company (TEPCO). TEPCO estimates that the leaked water may contain 22 billion becquerels of radioactive materials, such as cesium and strontium. TEPCO has blocked access to the site of the leakage.
