There are many traditional, auspicious designs in China. At the 2024 Spring Festival Gala, the song "New Year Brocade" showcased them in an expression of good wishes from the Han, Tang, Song and Ming dynasties. The patterns on show were designed by Chang Shana, a 93-year-old artist renowned for her studies of the Mogao Grottoes in Dunhuang, northwest China's Gansu Province. They were on display in this performance, alongside spectacular music and lyrics.
