Philippine coast guard vessel 9701 illegally trespassed into the waters adjacent to China's Huangyan Island on February 8, and it suddenly sped up and approached the China coast guard vessel 3302. Warnings were issued to the Philippine vessel 9701 but were ignored. The China coast guard vessel 3302 and vessel 3105 took route control and drove the Philippine vessel away.
