More than 100 killed, hundreds more injured as Israel launches attacks on Rafah city

03:18

Local media reports more than 100 people have been killed and hundreds more injured as the Israeli army launched attacks from air, sea and land on the southern Gaza city of Rafah and its surrounding areas. The Israeli military says it has rescued two hostages held by Hamas during the assault. It's their second such rescue since October 7th. Rafah, near the Egyptian border, is the last safe zone where 1.2 million displaced Palestinians have been sheltering for the past weeks. Arab countries earlier warned Israel against an assault on Rafah. Hamas has said it could end negotiations for prisoner swaps if Israel continues ground operations on the city.
