Fuman Oilfield is China's largest ultra-deep oilfield, boasting over 1 billion tonnes of oil and gas resources. It's located in the Tarim Basin in northwest China. The natural resources are detected mainly between 7,500 meters to 10,000 meters underground. The oilfield is expected to produce 5 million tonnes of oil and gas equivalent annually by 2025. At present, 300 wells in the oilfield are in operation. Since 2023, more than 70 ultra-deep wells have been drilled here, including 51 that produce an average of 100 tonnes of oil or gas daily.
