Combining traditional lantern-making techniques with modern lighting technology, this huge dragon-shaped installation, which simulates the scene of a flood dragon swimming out of the sea, has been attracting local residents and tourists since its unveiling in the Shichahai scenic area of downtown Beijing on February 9. With a total length of 202.4 meters, it represents good fortune and prosperity for people in the year 2024. It joins the thousands of lanterns and lights and a host of other holiday decorations throughout the city that add to the festive atmosphere.
