During the Spring Festival, people around China use folk activities to express their good wishes for the coming new year.

Tomas, a vlogger from the Netherlands, celebrated the arrival of the Year of the Dragon by joining local cultural events in Zhejiang Province's Shaoxing City. Together with his foreign friends, he made niangao and zongzi, saw local calligraphy masters writing couplets and admired New Year flower boats running through the canals.

"The Spring Festival is not only about having a good time together, but also about experiencing the beauty of Chinese culture," he said.
