U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) said its forces on Tuesday launched a strike on a cruise missile that was about to be fired at ships in the Red Sea from an area of Yemen controlled by the Houthi group.
In a statement, the U.S. said it conducted the self-defense strike at approximately 2:35 p.m. (Sanaa time).
The U.S. also said it tracked an anti-ship ballistic missile (ASBM) that was launched from the Iranian-backed Houthi-controlled area of Yemen into the Gulf of Aden on Wednesday, but no action was made because the missile was not projected to impact near any ships.
