China has established an independent scientific system for Antarctic exploration and research over the past 40 years. Since the 1990s, China's Antarctica research has focused on terrestrial, freshwater and marine ecosystems, and the Antarctic lithosphere, covering 138 topics across seven projects. In recent years, the country has continuously increased investment in the construction of Antarctic exploration capabilities.
