The death toll in a massive landslide that crashed into villages in Davao de Oro province in the southern Philippines has climbed to 92, local media said on Thursday as the search continues for missing people.

Provincial officials said 36 people were still unaccounted for after the landslide on February 6.

Torrential rains have battered the province in recent weeks, triggering floods and landslides, and forcing many families to flee their homes.

The U.S. military and the Philippines armed forces have been helping with relief operations for communities affected by the landslide.
