Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy will visit Germany and France on Friday for talks with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz and French President Emmanuel Macron, Zelenskyy's office announced Thursday.
During Zelenkyy's visit to France, France and Ukraine will sign a bilateral agreement on security commitments, the French presidency has said.
Noting the Russia-Ukraine conflict will soon enter its third year, the French presidency said Zelenskyy's visit will be an opportunity for Macron to "reaffirm France's determination to continue to provide, in the long-term and with all of its partners, unwavering support for Ukraine and the Ukrainian people."
As Kyiv seeks NATO membership and continues fighting with Russia, diplomats had said that Zelenskyy would conclude bilateral security assurances with France and Germany this week after beginning talks in July.
Macron's office said details of the agreement would be given during a press conference.
Zelenskyy will also speak at the Munich Security Conference on Saturday and hold a number of bilateral meetings on its sidelines, including planned negotiations with U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris, among other world leaders.
