Celebrating Spring Festival with a splash of light, the Laomendong historic area of Nanjing in east China's Jiangsu Province has been illuminated with festive lanterns. Eye-catching dragon lanterns have appropriately taken center stage amid the arrival of the Year of the Dragon on the Chinese calendar. When night falls, visitors while away their time appreciating lanterns in the beautifully-lit area. The lanterns in the historic neighborhood also form part of the attractions of the city's Qinhuai Lantern Show, which usually runs for the entire Spring Festival period.
