SpaceX launches Intuitive Machines moon lander

01:17

A moon lander built by Houston-based aerospace company Intuitive Machines was launched on February 15 on a mission to conduct the first U.S. lunar touchdown in more than half a century and the first by a privately owned spacecraft. SpaceX's Falcon rocket blasted off from NASA's Kennedy Space Center, dispatching the lander on its way to the moon, 370,000 kilometers away. If all goes well, the landing attempt will take place on February 22.
