Heavy snow has hit many parts of China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, disrupting traffic as the temperature dropped by up to 24 degrees Celsius. Police officers and highway management departments implemented temporary traffic controls at some snow-hit road sections and organized machinery and personnel to clear snow. The snowy weather forced local railway departments to suspend operation of some trains over the weekend. Local authorities have also taken measures to ensure normal heating and water supplies are available.
